CIVIC STRIP

The Civic Strip is a predominantly pedestrian-friendly area of downtown connecting the Oncenter Complex, civic institutions, and cultural organizations with Armory Square.  

Flexible design elements are deployed in a variety of situations to maximize visual impact while structures are highlighted to both activate the ground plane and identify important urban assets. Other design elements de-emphasize the street and play on the existing tonal variations of the historic red brick buildings in the city.
